No matter how sartorially experimental you claim to be, there’ll always be one trend (if not more) that you prefer giving a miss. Why? Either it’s too tacky for you or the trend just doesn’t go with your vibe. Remember the all-black-everything fad that’s still a favourite? Vogue‘s Editor-in-chief, the Miranda Priestly-esque Anna Wintour revealed in an episode of 73 Questions that she hates “head-to-toe black”. When we asked our Managing Editor Simi Kuriakose, she mentioned, “Blair Waldorf is one to take serious fashion advice from. And if she reiterated tights aren’t pants, it’s important one pays heed to it. Tights (or even leggings) as pants is a strict no-no for me. For gymming… yes. But not when I’m on an outing or at work.” WODROB’s Fashion Curator and Stylist Sheena Chandwani discussed her dislike for the cold shoulder trend, “I’d either wear an off-the-shoulder or something with sleeves; not a wannabe cold shoulder.” We decided to ask some of our readers what’s the one trend they’d steer clear of. Yes I’ve heard of never say never. Nonetheless, the one fashion trend I’ll never try is the denim skirt/jeans look that Priyanka Chopra was recently spotted in. To me, it was an extremely confusing look to start with. I like my style to be clean. Though I love layering, I did feel that the look just took ”quirky’ a bit too far. Priyanka Chopra can totally pull it off, but I’d definitely stay away from it.
Shorts over a long tunic. Why? Because you DO NOT wear shorts over the tunic, you’re supposed to wear them under it. Shraddha Kapoor wore it recently and even Disha Patani followed suit. But I don’t think I’ll ever try it. Another trend I’ll give a miss are those tacky, colourful boots… you know the one that Shibani Dandekar is seen wearing.
I think the one trend I’d never try is overalls. Of course, I loved wearing it as a kid. I mean, who didn’t, right? But I’ll never ever wear it anymore; they are just too uncomfortable.
It’s got to be jumpsuits. While the piece looks comfortable and chic, the problem begins when you have to go to the washroom. You know what I mean right?
It’s got to be animal print. I’ve seen way too many celebrities sport it and though it looks good on them, I’ll never give it a try.
