Closet essentials, to me, are pieces that can be versatile as well as transitional. Like your basic denims that is perfect for a Friday at work or a Sunday brunch. Or a white button-down that can get dressy with a sleek pantsuit or can be dressed down with a tangerine accordion-pleated skirt. As far as I’m concerned, it’s a striped dress in a comfortable silhouette. If it’s one with an asymmetrical hem, I can wear it with a pair of sneakers for a casual Sunday. Or just take it along for a beach day and pair it with slides. A short, structured one can be worn to work and sported to a night out with the right add-ons. I think, a striped dress is a perfect piece in the wardrobe, one I can’t do without.

It’s actually funny that I got my brother’s trousers altered one time, and before I knew it, it was a trend the next season. I think androgynous trousers are versatile and this particular pair has an old-school vibe to it, and I love that. I can work it with anything, from sneakers to the hottest pair of boots. So for me, it’d be a pair of androgynous trousers.

A pair of Converse or Stan Smith sneakers looks good on almost everything, and can be dressed up with partywear as well as casuals, and dressed down to work a street-style outfit. I like that you get so many varieties and designs and you can also have a unique, customised pair that nobody else has. Classic, versatile, and timeless!
