We will not deny that cleaning the closet can be a boring task. It is time-consuming and to get the deal over with can seem like a distant dream. But there’s no denying that a clean closet is a step closer to an organised life. Living a fast-paced life in the city calls for equally fast ways to clean the wardrobe. Since WODROB is all about wardrobe management, we’ve figured what it takes to declutter in a jiffy. Scroll on to find how you can declutter your closet, all within a few minutes.
First and foremost, it is important to set aside some extra time so as to plan how to clean your closet. The time depends on how huge your wardrobe is. To initiate the process, either gather three cardboard boxes or just make three separate piles on the floor. The first step is to put together a list of items that are in a terrible condition (read: old, faded, torn). Whether it’s a quick declutter method or an hour-long task, you’ll always have to begin with tossing out the things you don’t need or ones that cannot be worn, repaired or revamped.
Once you’ve got this pile sorted out, the next pile are of apparels and accessories you wear on a daily basis — all the things that fit you well and are in a great condition. Place these neatly back into the closet. You need not put it back in any particular order (keep this organising step for another day).
The final pile is the one that has all the items you’re not sure what to do with (we’re calling it the ‘maybe’ pile). Either donate the items or sell it off if they are in a good condition. You can also take your time and make a decision whether you want to give it a spot in the closet. Again, keeping things back in a hurry is optional and that can be handled another time.
