Be Summer Ready By Trying These 6 Ways To Wear Cheery Yellow

Be Summer Ready By Trying These 6 Ways To Wear Cheery Yellow

When we think summer the one colour that pops in our mind is yellow, isn’t it? The colour exudes freshness and for the lack of a better words, it is pretty vivacious. Yellow is obviously a colour worn all year round. But we at WODROB think that it makes for a perfect addition to one’s summer-ready wardrobe.

We do know yellow is not a hue everyone may be comfortable wearing. It is bright, loud and is sure to attract eyeballs. While you may be comfortable with the attention (like us) not everyone is. However, yellow can be played down or up depending on your taste. You can rock an all-yellow ensemble this summer or you can break it up by sporting a yellow top with a pair of blue denims. The cheery colour is both a classic and easy to style. We’ll show you how it’s done!

Go All Yellow

For all you minimalists, this may not be the colour of your choice. However for the bold dressers, yellow makes for an ideal summer look. We don’t deny that yellow is a rather bright shade. But you’ve definitely heard of ‘mellow yellow’? Sport an all yellow look and do not fret about being overdone. A great way to go all yellow would be trying a yellow jumpsuit paired with lace-up strappy sandals. Or you could try a yellow pantsuit for an androgynous look and break the monotony with a stark white shirt. Team this look up with a pair of stilettos and you’ve got yourself a fun yet bold corporate look.

Sunny Yellow Pants

We do agree that yellow is a bold colour for pants. But it’s still one hue we love, and you will too once you hear our a few styling tips from us. Pair your navy blue and white striped top with a pair of flared pants and flats for a chic airport look. Or you can go the ethnic way and style your yellow pants with a stark white short kurti as well as a chunky neckpiece. Don’t just go for a simple silhouette in trousers. Instead mix it up a bit by opting for culottes, gauchos, palazzo pants or even straight-fit ankle-length pants to do the trick.

‘Shorting’ The Yellow Look

Nothing helps beat the heat than a comfortable pair of shorts. Pairing the apt summer-perfect colour yellow with shorts…it doesn’t get better than that, does it? Team your yellow shorts with a tucked-in shirt and a belt for a Saturday brunch date or amp up the look with a crop top and heels for a night out. Choose lighter shades of the colour if you’re afraid of looking too loud.
WM Tip: If you are wearing a pair of yellow shorts, steer away from wearing heels of the same colour. It might look a tad bit overdone.

Flirty Skirt-y In Yellow

We’re all about maxi skirts and minis. A skirt is a great way to exude feminity if a dress isn’t your thing. You could style your maxi yellow skirt with a light denim top and throw in your white sneakers for a grungy look. Combining yellow with denim gives a slight texture to the outfit as well.  Add a pair of sunnies and you’re good to go. You can also team up a yellow mini skirt with an off-the-shoulder top if you’re not one to shy away from showing a little skin show.

Shoes, A Timeless Investment

If you want to add subtle hints of the colour instead of parading around in the hue, do it with a pair of shoes. Yellow is one colour that easily goes with denim, your pastel pinks as well as your darker shades like grey. A pair of yellow shoes make for a good investment and be one you can wear often and style differently. A yellow pair of stilettos with your LBD…need we say more? Even a yellow flats styled simply with a plain dress makes for a perfect summer look.

Summer Sunshine Bag

It’s never too late to add some sunshine to your look. Do it with a bright yellow bag! First things first, a bag doesn’t have to match your outfit. It can be a completely contrasting colour and still look great. Let a yellow bag do that for you. A yellow tote or a yellow beach bag helps UP your style quotient when paired with your wrap-around skirt on the beach or with a completely contrasting colour like green. Say YES to a yellow bag now!
