Innovation is the next big thing when it comes to fashion and style. Be it digital printing, lab-grown leather or 3-D printed garments, among other things, technological innovation in fashion has (literally) taken over. Recently, Team WODROB discussed Italian brand Uztzu, which came up with a 4-in-1 functional tee — a t-shirt with a quad face design that enables you to wear it in four different ways. We also did a rundown on five uber-cool wearable tech that are must-knows as of now. Then there was the story on Flipkart, a brand that has amped up the game with their 360-degree innovative fashion video.
While integrating technology into fashion may seem familiar, India is just about trying its hand at this brand new concept. Homegrown e-commerce brands are also stepping up the fashion game and are not lagging behind when it comes to incorporating tech into fashion. In fact, looks like Myntra has taken it up on themselves to create a few products in their innovation labs at their Bengaluru office. One of the products is a talking t-shirt. Yes you read that right! In an article on Economic Times Tech, Myntra’s chief product officer Ambarish Kenghe said that these tees are pretty much regular looking t-shirts with contextual interactive content. Myntra’s online store will be launching these soon.
Apart from the smart talking tees, the e-commerce giant is also developing an app using which people can get recommendations and opinions on how their daily outfits look. All the user has to do is take a mirror selfie through the app, which will then identify the elements worn by him/her, and rate it on a scale of 0 to 100. Over a period of time, the app will also help the user with suggestions from a personal fashion stylist on how they can style the outfits better.
