With what comes as a less of a surprise and more of an anticipated move, designer label Gucci headed by Alessandro Michele is all set to venture into home decor with its very own line labelled Gucci Decor. The array of items in the collection includes furniture, furnishings, crockery, and a range of wallpapers that come in silk, vinyl and paper, and decorative folding screens. Additionally, incense and candles in four distinct scents will be the lowest featured commodity in the collection. We call this as a much-anticipated transition for a reason. Guests for the earlier runway shows have often spotted cat motif pillows strategically placed only directing to the designer’s interest in venturing into home decor for a while now.
Talking about the design and motifs, Creative Director Alessandro Michele commented, “The idea is not to prescribe a particular decorative look, but to provide elements that allow for living spaces to be customised.” The DIY element would allow the customers to modify pieces by adding decorative details.
The collection is an eclectic mix of patterns, colours and designs similar to the clothing designs seen on the runway. One can also spot appearance of texts and resemblance to the Gucci Garden Flora capsule collection. The decor can be shopped from Gucci’s flagship store, Gucci.com and other speciality stores this September.
