Louis Vuitton Launches Its Smartwatch – Tambour Horizon

Louis Vuitton Launches Its Smartwatch – Tambour Horizon

Louis Vuitton just carried on the tradition of luxury brands venturing into wearable tech by launching its first smartwatch — Tambour Horizon. For all you tech geeks out there who like luxury goods and also happen to be travel enthusiasts, this is the pick for you. The Tambour Horizon comes with 60 interchangeable strap options, a range of downloadable digital watch faces and operates on Android 2.0. With a signature Tambour design, this watch is compatible with both ios and Android. A feature that caught our attention is the unisex design, which works internationally in China and the rest of the world. It is the first of its kind and as explained by Michael Burk, Louis Vuitton Chairman and Chief Executive, “If a Chinese citizen buys the Horizon watch in Paris, when they land in Shanghai and they reboot the watch, it boots automatically on the Chinese operating system.” To top it all, the watch also has two unique apps like MyFlight and City Guide that will help keep wandering souls up to date with flight times. With the motto of better late than never, this watch promises what all other smart watches do — setting alarms, text notifications and in general, help you lead a tech savvy life.

While Apple dominates the Smart Watch category, other luxury brands like Tag Heuer, Bulgari and Montblanc also have smartwatches of their own.
